Forgotten Forms is the creative work of Aaron Piccirillo.

I have been involved in writing, recording, performance, and composition for over fifteen years, I hold a bachelor’s degree in literature from the State University of New York at Purchase, and a master’s degree from the University of Manchester in England.

I have written for Ultraculture, Clavis Journal, Aeon Sophia Press, and Appalachia Journal. I also appear in New Wilderness Voices, an anthology of nature writing released in 2017 by the University Press of New England.

I have been a member of multiple musical groups, most notably Apse, and I continue to record my own material under the name Somnolent,* founded in 2004. Somnolent was included on “Nothing Concrete”, a 99x/10 records compilation put together by Roger O’Donnell, keyboardist for The Cure. Most recently, Somnolent has had two tracks included on each of the Hermetic Library’s 2014 and 2016 anthology albums.

Other current projects include Synesect, a musical collaboration between myself and Vanessa Irena. Both Synesect and Somnolent can be heard in the Audio section of this site.

*This is not to be confused with the Russian band of the same name, formed in 2006.
